He leverages this experience in transforming in-house client-server applications into scalable/secure web based applications.
Mr. Kulkarni has been involved in defining high-level technical architecture for a couple of projects. This architecture includes deciding hardware needs based on various factors such as number of users for the system, amount of data loaded into memory, and scheduled availability. He is also involved in overall architecture and interface definitions for integration of different enterprise systems.
Mr. Kulkarni has solid understanding of object-oriented concepts. He utilizes UML modeling tools and leverages well-known design patterns/best practices while building and implementing software solutions.
Project success is very important to Mr. Kulkarni. To minimize post-deployment bugs, he utilizes well-known tools/techniques for software testing during and after development of software solutions.
Mr. Kulkarni's technical experience includes implementations in Java, J2EE, XML-Web services, and Integration/Middleware software such as Tibco/webMethods.
Representative professional experience includes:
- Team lead for a web based "Quote management and Cost estimation" software. This software is designed and developed for a global organization. It facilitates this organization sending an order to different plants within the organization for costing and pricing for all parts of the order, and then rewards the order to plant(s) for all or specific parts based on costing/pricing information.
- Lead developer for a web based "Document Control and Management System". This solution gives organizations a framework, where an organization can define its own "Document type" with it's own custom attributes and can define multiple approval life-cycles for each document type. Once defined, the system allows users to create documents and add files to the document and then start the approval process for the document. This also allows users to revise any document and re-send for approval. Automatic PDF generation for source document is featured in the system. The PDF version of each file will be presented to the users of the system for whom the source file is not required.
- Lead developer for a business process management and collaboration product. The core Meta model was a generic representation of business objects and allows defining domain-specific entities. The product can be configured for program management and product life-cycle management (PLM). It features versioning, role based access control, notifications and dynamically generated workflow.
- Lead developer for designing and implementing integration framework for a customer's Web-based collaboration product. Developed adapter for webMethods middleware /integration platform. Helped in the technical evaluation of products from different middleware/integration vendors that helped in the customer's alliance with webMethods. Also involved in the integration of customer's product with different PDM Systems using the STEP-XML format.
- Involved in the implementation of Supply Chain Planning software for various customers. This includes leading the technical side of implementations and development of tools for integration with legacy systems.
- Worked as a software developer in an Integration Platform development company.
